Women's Film Festival in Seoul met 9th birthday, and the fact is very surprising news to me. I visited WFFIS every year but I didn't recognized until now that five years passed already since the first time when I visited this film festival in 2001.
Lots of memories were reminded all of sudden. It's very miraculous experience that just one movie ticket draw out what happened in old days. At that time, I was a university student who strongly belive I can change the world for myself or a intern working for the feminist journal or a soldier ashamed to the identity I got or a highly-motivated student in everything just after coming back from military. Now I'm here as a professional for watching movies concerning immigrant women.
My position was changed every time when I visit this film festival, but I still believe what in my inside is not change yet. I couldn't exactly say or describe the name of it, however, no matter what you call it, I'm having it in my heart as a source of power. I'll be here next year and the year after next again unless I lost that breathe inside of me.
'Maid for Sale' of Dima Al-Joundi was very impressive film at this time, and fully enough to get a big hand from audience. I feel as if I were in Rebanon or Sri-Ranka with immigrant women who have to leave her family due to making money all along the time watching this documentary film. I couldn't notice the serious problem of women immigration in Sri-Ranka yet. However I've been recognized same kind of process is happening in this peninsula as well even though its name is not called as servant sale.

Having no money for a living, they go abroad to earn money. She have no choice but to leave her children for some time and family w/o mother often collapsed. Regarding immigration, I only accept that actual cases have so much diversified by region and situation.
