Arrived at Singapore. It's 2nd time visiting and the feeling this city gave me was little bit different as 2 years ago. I'm not sure why. It's more complicate to explain but would be originated from the change of my position from undergraduate studnet from to office worker in mobile service company. Singapore seems still to be clean and quiet but let me have anoter feeling by the existance of Singtel, one of major mobile company in global level.
Can SKT overcome the giant which already covered 100 million more subscribers in Asia in the near future? I'm afraid it will be very tough. SKT is globalized than before (currently operating mobile services to Vietnam, Mongolia and U.S except Korea) and trying to encourage her employees' capacity in recent. However, it is certain that the change is still being implemented in limited areas. That means effect also would be limited. But who knows? Consistancy, willingness and innovation are much more important like other cases as Toyota or Samsung.
Let's think about another one. How about methond in development? Is it just okey if market share or revenue is increased? What is the social responsibility as Multi-National Companies? They are eligible to embrace poor people. In other words, private firms're able to provide job to people and thake them out from the poverty. Am I too naive? Absolutely Not.
Look at Singapore, harmonized by nice public poicy, efficient private firm armed with good marketing skills. I truly wish, for the poor in the whole world, it could not be just a daydream to live like people living in Singapore.
